Private swimming lessons
Enjoy private swimming lessons with one of our West Bay swimming instructors. Suitable for all ages and abilities, our swimming lessons are bespoke to your individual needs and are designed to help you gain confidence in the pool and improve on skills and stroke technique.
Our friendly and experienced instructors will work with you so that you can develop at your own rate, while building your aerobic fitness. Our instructors offer the ASA Swimming Pathway so you can work towards achieving swimming badges alongside your individual goals.
Our instructors offer a flexible range of lessons, so there is something to suit everybody.
- Our 1-to-2 sessions are perfect for children of the same ability who would like to share their lesson with a friend.
- Or choose the 6 session package to help you significantly improve and develop your swimming skills over a period of 6 weeks.
- We also offer a 3 day crash course especially designed for guests staying at West Bay for 1 week or less.

Private lessons with Elizabeth Kreuz
Elizabeth is ASA Level 1 and 2 qualified and has competed at the highest level as a national Silver and Bronze medallist and Southern champion for front, back, fly and medley. She also holds the record for the most medals won at the Island Games with 11 in total, including 6 Gold.
Private lessons with Stan Holloway
Stan Holloway is an ASA level 1 and 2 qualified swimming teacher who has a wealth of competition experience having competed in triathlons and Iron-Man races for nearly 15 years.
As a triathlete, Stan specialises at sea swimming but recognises the importance of achieving a strong technique at an early age. Having taught at West Bay Country Club and Spa for over 7 years, Stan is able to draw on years of experience in developing progressive teaching plans for all ages, abilities and goals.
Private lessons with Fran Clayden
Fran is ASA Level 1 and 2 qualified and has been teaching swimming for the past seven years as well as having her BTF Triathlon Coaching Qualification. She has swum competitively for a club from a young age and is still a keen triathlete and open water swimmer. She has a range of experience in regards to teaching swimming and has taught children from the ages of 2- 15 years as well as teaching and coaching adults. Fran has taught at numerous swim schools and taught both children and adults at Southampton and Thames Turbo Triathlon club. She also spent four months this summer coaching swimming at a summer camp in New York State. Here she was in charge of running the Learn to Swim Programme as well as coordinating and coaching the elite swim team at the summer camp.
